Premium transformer plywood is a special grade phenolic resins impregnated wood veneer based composite material processing high mechanical strength coupled with insulation properties. Here selected wood veneers free from all natural defects are impregnated with phenolic resins then these resins treated wood veneers are subjected to a drying process to reduce moisture content in it then assembled to a required pack by putting each veneer one over another at desired angles depending upon the properties required. This assembled packs are press under high temperature (140-150c) and pressure (80-100kg/cm). When the process is completed the pressed material is removed from the system by subjecting required cooling. Here almost care should be given and all processed parameters are to be adopted during its processing period. The material possess excellent dielectric properties along with all mechanical strength so it is widely used for production and fabrication of power transformers and distribution transformers.
